Fintech firm Klavi compiled the figures by analyzing the transaction records of 1.2 million users through the Open Finance platform. The betting participation rate reached 34.8%, compared to 11% in May. Average daily deposits during the tournament increased from $36 to $52.
More than 60% of funding occurs after 18:00, aligning with live match broadcasts. The average deposit reached approximately $100 following the Brazil versus Morocco fixture on June 14. Ten percent of bettors contribute up to twenty times the average expenditure.
Increased market activity has prompted oversight from Brazilian authorities. The Ministry of Justice is examining advertising practices used by CazéTV, Globo, and SBT during tournament broadcasts. The review focuses on betting operator promotions aired during live matches.
Broadcasters facing confirmed violations could face penalties reaching $380 million.
