Over one million new player accounts were registered for the tournament. A total of 3.1 million players utilized 3.8 million active accounts to place approximately 113 million bets.

France entered the 2026 tournament as a favorite following their runner-up finish in 2022. The semi-final match between France and Spain generated €63 million in online wagers, marking the highest betting volume for a single match in France since 2010. Five matches from the current tournament exceeded €30 million in wagers.
Notable events included the quarter-final against Morocco (€46 million), the Spain versus Argentina final (€38 million), and victories against Paraguay (€35 million) and Sweden (€33 million).
Market Trends and Player Behavior
In-play betting accounted for 25 percent of activity, a decrease from the usual 40 percent average, attributed to late kick-off times in Western Europe. Outright winner markets represented 28 percent of bets, while player props and exact scorelines were favored by bettors. Regarding financial outcomes, 471,000 players lost more than €100, whereas 217,000 won at least that amount.
Approximately 25 percent of participants concluded the tournament without losses. While 44 percent of players placed fewer than 10 bets, roughly 15,000 individuals placed over 500.
The 2022 tournament in Qatar generated €597 million in total wagers and €70 million in gross gaming revenue. The France versus Argentina final in 2022 recorded €51 million in bets.
